Hello Neighbors!

Our Seabeck Neighbors Connects Facebook group exists to connect volunteer “helpers” in the community with individuals and family neighbors in need.  In the next month or possible months ahead, our neighbors may need more assistance than ever before.

Our hope is that neighbors will use this portal to post their requests, whether it be a gallon of milk, a meal, or a ride to the doctor and that someone, and a volunteer Helper in our community will connect with them to fill that request.  Helpers may also create a Facebook post stating how they can help;  then a Neighbor needing assistance can review the Helpers' posts and connect with a Helper that can fulfill their request.  Getting help to our community might be as simple creating a Facebook post and providing a forum for Neighbors and Helpers to connect.   We recommend that once individuals connect with a Helper, that they PM (Private message) them to work out the details.

Here is a quote from Mr. [Fred] Rogers who was part of the inspiration for this group:

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me,

"Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

Let’s all try to do what we can to make the scary times less scary and be good neighbors!

Note:  This web page and our Facebook group is moderated by the Crosby Community Center and Women’s Club of Seabeck.  We provide the portal.  Then we do our best to keep discussions neighborly and on topic.  We do NOT vet neighbors’ requests nor vet the volunteer helpers and we cannot guarantee that there will be a helper for every request for assistance.   As administrators of the Facebook group, we will try to offer Facebook assistance to make posts more effective.  We will also update this web page with links to information to assist our community.

MAKE A REQUEST

Gallon of Milk? Meal? Other?

You can go to our Facebook group and either find a volunteer Helper that matches your need or or post a request.   Once you find a Helper or a Helper finds you, you may communicate via a Facebook post,  instant message, or take it offline to workout the details.

Optionally, you may use MealTrain.com to create your personal MealTrain.  Once you have your personal Mealrain link, you may post this to our Facebook group.  If your MealTrain is scheduled by one or more Helpers, you will add the work COMPLETE to your Facebook post.
